Tariff Consultancy Ltd Announces 3rd Mobile Pricing Symposium
London 3rd April 2008. Tariff Consultancy Limited has announced it will hold the 2008 Mobile Pricing Symposium in Cambridge on the 9th to 11th of July. Now in its third year the event is a unique 3 day residential course based at Homerton College, a Cambridge University which addresses the critical factor of mobile pricing and how best to use pricing to compete in today’s global mobile market.
“Pricing is one central element in the marketing mix and it can directly contribute to the profitability of todays mobile services,” commented Margrit Sessions, Managing Director of Tariff Consultancy Ltd, the organisers of the programme. “Pricing is of critical importance in maintaining revenue streams, ensuring customer loyalty and retention, building market share and maintaining Average Revenue Per User (ARPU),” she added.
In mobile markets worldwide there are fundamental changes that are transforming the role of the mobile network operator, including the growth of bundled services, mobile broadband, the rise of VoIP services and new forms of business model to be explored, with mobile advertising and flat rate tariffs to the fore. All these factors are placing pressures on the mobile operator and require the need for further analysis of how to develop a comprehensive pricing strategy.
The 3 Day Programme of the Mobile Pricing Symposium will address the following key topics among others:
Bundling: the latest developments in the bundling of mobile & other services.
Roaming: for both voice and data services & the impact of existing & proposed regulation.
Segmentation: mobile customer segmentation for both the consumer & the business sectors.
Mobile Broadband: with details of the latest mobile broadband developments.
Regulation: examples of the impact of regulation on telecoms pricing and the way forward.
New forms of distribution & billing: with the impact of e-billing and distribution via the internet channel.
Each section of the programme will be illuminated by the use of case studies and examples of real live up to date mobile operator pricing.
Symposium will include a number of expert external speakers from across the mobile industry who will add their perspective to the challenges of providing the most effective pricing structure.
One of the strengths of the programme is the participation by the audience which is encouraged, a strength which is underlined by the diversity of attendees. Over the last two years audience members have joined from mobile operators and regulators in such countries such as , Bahrain, Brazil, Belize, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Russia and as well as the UK and Europe.
